Origin Story

Our story started in Navarra, Spain, where we met as university students, totally in love with the Spanish lifestyleand each other. We dreamed of living in Madrid, building a life together, and retiring there someday.

But Spain had other plans. We graduated in 2010—right during the middle of a financial crisis. Jobs were scarce, and we couldn’t find decent jobs in the fields we studied. After a couple years working in Luxembourg, we moved to Colombia but kept our shared dream: one day, we’d come back not just to live in Spain—but to invest in property in Spain. During those years abroad, we kept a close eye on property for sale in Spain.

Fast forward a a decade, Jade had built and sold her eCommerce business of handmade Colombian bags. Gustavo was deep in real estate, working in his family’s company that’s been around for 40 years. We knew how to build, negotiate, and spot value. But when it came to buying property in Spain as foreigners? Whole new ballgame.

We thought we’d just hop on Idealista or Fotocasa and find “the one.” Nope. What we found was a maze. Overpriced flats, endless staircases (seriously, so many stairs), and just when we thought we found a deal, it was gone the next day. Not to mention, that creeping fear of making a bad call. We weren’t just buying a home —we were making an investment in Spanish real estate. That meant running the numbers and trusting our gut… but fast!

Not to mention, we had to get back to our lives in Colombia and couldn’t search forever. Eventually, we cracked the code. We realized the real estate deals in Spain were not online. You get them through hustle, local connections, patience, and showing up (sometimes more than once). And once we landed our first place—a small 3 bedroom, cash-bought unit—we saw it take off. Strong rental income, great returns, and suddenly, we had momentum.

We rinsed and repeat, and started getting better results. Not to mention, we’re still based in Colombia, doing it all from afarfor now. We’ve built a process that works—and more importantly, a life that works.
